Happy New Year!! & Valentine Swap Signups!

Well here it is!! New Years Eve!! WOW!! That sure went fast... I can not believe this is it!!
The beginning of a new year!!
I am really looking forward to see what's in store for 2012. I am definitely going to make some resolutions....and promise to stick with them.
If you see my new blog header, I have included a picture of myself. Something I rarely do.. if you know me, you are quite aware that I hate and I mean HATE to have my picture taken.

But this is it... It is time to finally take that step.. to admit to myself and accept me for who I am. So that is why I decided to post the picture. I have to look at it every day. And remind myself of my number one resolution...
#1 - To become healthy.
every 3 months, I will add a new picture of myself, so that you can see my progress. More importantly so I can see my progress!!

I would love to hear about your
New Years Resolutions!!

Now to the really important stuff.... I had
such a good time with the apron swap and everyone was so wonderful, and with much prodding, I have
decided to host a VALENTINE SWAP.  I know, I know!  It's only New Years Eve... But, if you think about it... Valentines is only about 6 weeks away.. so I thought it would be a good time to announce it so that there is time to think about weather or not you want to join and also, so there is plenty of time to make the craft.
so here it is...

That's it!! All you have to do is make a Valentine Cone... It can be paper, fabric, whatever you want it to be!! May I suggest you also fill it with all kinds of goodies or trinkets if you want!  I think this will be just so much fun!! This will also be one for one. You will make one cone and send it and you will receive one in return. I will require that everyone again, send me their valentines. I will photograph them, and then redistribute them out to the other participants. Same as last time.  Please include your information .. ie.. mailing address, email, and blog or website with the cone. The deadline for

signups will be JANUARY 8th. I MUST receive your cone NO LATER than JANUARY 29th. This way, I can photograph them and repackage them and get them out before Valentines. Please include $5.00 to cover return shipping..

Shipping: The post office has a shoe box shaped box  and a priority mail tube box that most cones fit into. (check the size) so you can priority mail it for about $5.50. You can order these for free from the post office on line and they will ship right to your home with the links above. If you want to ship it Parcel Post, than just make sure you send it in plenty of time so it reaches me, and also leave me time to get it to the other swapper!  If you are International, I require additional $$$ to cover postage. Priority mail has become very expensive for international, so shipping parcel may be the best option, but remember it will take additional time and you may not recieve yours in time for valentines... I welcome international, but just want to mention this in advance.

I will need your name, mailing address, email address, and blog/website (blog/website not required to participate) in advance, so I can can prepare return shipments. This was everyone receives their cones in a timely manner!!

Some free Valentines for you!!

Compliments of the Graphic's Fairy!!

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

It's almost here... just around the corner!!
I want to wish everyone a
SAFE and HEALTHY New Years Eve!!

I also want to thank all my followers. I constantly in awe that anyone has any interest at all in what I have to say.... I really appreciate when people leave comments and let me know their thoughts.
Thank you!! Thank you!!!

Hi Cheryl....Your Valentine Cone Swap sounds like so much fun. And immediately I thought of a handmade LARGE cone shaped cookie filled with fabulous delights and decorated to the hilt. I do know that may be impossible. Wait a minute. Maybe it won't. Let me think about it. I would just want it to travel well. I have an idea that came into my head that this may work. I need to email you.
Thanks again for your comment. Quick make the swans or mousse today before the new year! They are so good and worth the splurge. Honest! I have lost over 40 lbs over the last couple of years. I think it averages to be about 2.2oz a week. But people are seeing less of me all the time. (Big Smile)
Good luck Cheryl. I'll be looking for changes. You are a dear!

Hi, Cheryl
Maybe this comment will not go poof!
I am proud of you for posting a sweet photo of yourself. I want to become more healthy this year too and also do more in the way of crafts. Thank you for viewing my brother's blog. He is a dear soul, a very humble man. I heard that eating oranges (by themselves) first thing in the morning (I even eat some of the rinds as they have bioflavinoids and folic acid in them) Anyway, and apples too. I know I haven't eaten as healthy as I should. I walk around my house for about half an hour (inside) just for a bit of exercise and I can tell a difference when I swing my arms with my elbows bent as I am walking. It helps get rid of the under arm and belly fat (of which anything extra I eat goes right to my middle!) We can wish each other good luck in our endeavors to become more healthy.

Buon Anno Cheryl!

Love your Valentine swap idea...wish I could participate, but I'm involved in too many other work related projects this month. {I recently heard first hand about your fabulous apron swap.}

By the way, I think you are very pretty, so I'm happy that you posted your photo...I'm shy too and only have a childhood snap shot of myself on my side bar. My "real" photo on a different page.

All the best to you for a very healthy and happy new year! So glad to have met you this year.

Ciao bella,

Hi Cheryl, It's Tricia from Minnesota!! Your post absolutely cracked me up!!! As I spent so much time last night surfing around the web trying to find a valentines swap to particapte in and came up empty. Plus many bloggers require that you have your own blog. So off I went .....pulled myself out of the 1980's and created a tiny one just so I could particapte in possible upcoming Valentine Swaps!!! And then WhooHoo I found yours... Hip Hip Hurray I love to Create!!!! Thanks for hosting and I'm sooooooooooo glad I found your blog!!!! I didn't realize you had one!!! And I think your photo looks adorable!!! Glad I found you out here sweet pea and I hope you and your hubby have a great News Years Eve!!!
